The Artistic Journey of Ezra Iranzi: From Kigali to Ecole d'art de Nyundo
Early Years and Artistic Awakening
Ezra Iranzi, born in 2003 in Rwanda, discovered his passion for art amidst the vibrant streets of Kigali.
Choosing Art Over Electronics
While still a student, Iranzi chose to pursue an art career and was glad to receive unwavering support from his loved ones.
Academic Pursuits at Ecole d'art de Nyundo
Iranzi's journey led him to Ecole d'art de Nyundo, Rwanda, where he honed his artistic skills and found his unique voice.
Western Art Joins African Contemporary Art
While initially drawn to landscapes, Iranzi encountered challenges interpreting their narratives, prompting him to use his African experience in a harmonious synthesis of new characters and landscapes set in the American West.
Diverse Artistic Palette
Iranzi showcases his versatility and depth as an artist through his unique interpretation of classic Western art subjects set in surprising surroundings.
Under pink skies wide and bold,
A story of the modern, and the old.
A cowboy stands, his truck beside,
In the distance, a white horse to ride.
The orange moon begins to rise,
In a monochrome pink, a sweet surprise.
Western culture, alive and well,
In this scene, many stories to tell.
- Words by Cowboy singer @colterwall
From the artist; "The collection is called, "New West". I decided on this name because it depicts the lives of modern cowboys in a contemporary setting, to cherish the culture and keep it alive. There are five works presently, and each speaks its message though they're in the same collection.
My current projects focus on a modern perspective of the legendary American West, placing famous cowboy archetypes into contemporary landscapes."
